Iliso sewing is an intiative that aims to teach sewing skills to the people in the Khayelitsha community. Our long term aim is to equip people with the skills to start and grow their own small enterprizes.

About

The Program

At Iliso we have recognized the real need for skills development in the area of fashion and sewing.

Our vision is to have a sewing center that not only trains students in basic skills, but that also helps guide them in how to set up their own independent and self-sustainable businesses.

How can you help?

  • Financial donations to grow the project and create a better working place and space.
  • Tutors are needed and your skills in sewing would be invaluable in train up those in the program.
  • In the long term we wish to upgrade our sewing machines and pruchase several industrial machines.
  • Donations of sewing supplies (cotton, fabric, scissors etc)
  • Support the program by ordering our merchandise for your family, clients or business.

In October 2016, Iliso was proud to launch a new initiative which is helping to create jobs and an income to unemployed women and youth within the community.
